Field studies: Worker re-entry studies

Worker Re-entry Studies for Field Studies evaluate human exposure to pesticides resulting from re-entry into treated agricultural crops. The initial amount of pesticide after application and its decrease over time is determined. Also known as dislodgeable foliar residue (DFR) studies, worker exposure is defined by the amount of pesticide residue that can be dislodged from the two-sided foliar surface of a plant. Additionally, the transfer coefficient (TC) can be calculated for workers re-entering treated crops. The TC is the ratio of the human pesticide exposure to the concurrent DFR samples collected in that crop.
